On 8 March 2023, Arthur Moses SC, Co-Chair of the LAWASIA Human Rights Committee, delivered the annual Hon Barry O’Keefe AM QC Memorial Lecture on the topic of ‘A Human Rights Act for New South Wales?’ In this lecture, Mr Moses makes the case for a human rights act or bill of rights in New South Wales. This is a timely lecture given the recent launch of the Australian Human RIghts Commission’s proposed model for a federal human rights act and the current inquiry into this issue by the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights in Australia.
